About Dr. Phillips's Area of Practice
Dr. Phillips provides outpatient psychotherapy with adolescents 15 years and older and adults. She does pre-adoption evaluations & sees a limited number of couples.
Education:
Dr. Phillips earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Miami University, 2003. She completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, 2003-2004.
Special interests:
Insight oriented psychoanalytic therapy, and short-term, problem focused therapy. Character change, Interpersonal problems and life transitions, divorce and parenting, depression and anxiety, ethnic identity development. Dr. Phillips sees all members of the adoption constellation (birth parents, adoptive parents, adoptees) and has completed training through the U of MN Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare (CASCW) to receive the Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate (PACC). She is also a vetted FosterAdoptMN adoption competent therapist. Dr. Phillips identifies as Asian American for those seeking a therapist of color.
