About Kim's Area of Practice
Kim has been working in psychiatry since 2013 and has clinical experience in a variety
of settings including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, primary care, emergency
psychiatry, and community psychiatry. She is board-certified to provide psychiatric
diagnostic assessments, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy. Kim
works with clients across the lifespan including children, adolescents, adults and
seniors. Kim sees clients both in-person and via telehealth.
Philosophy
Collaboration! I always tell my clients: You are the driver; I am the navigator! My
approach to treatment includes consideration of your unique biopsychosocial
circumstances. I aim to provide psychoeducation during every visit so that you feel well-
informed to be able to make the best decision for yourself. I also enjoy collaborating
with the multidisciplinary healthcare team (therapists, primary care providers, other
specialists) and your loved ones when indicated (and always with your consent).
Education
Kim earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 2021. She went on to
complete a post-graduate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Residency at
Duke University and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Durham, North Carolina
in 2022.
Kim earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a minor in psychology from
the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 2015. Prior to nursing school, she
earned an Associate of Arts with honors from Minneapolis Community and Technical
College in 2010.
Licensure/Certifications
Kim is licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Certified Nurse
Practitioner (CNP) in the state of Minnesota. She is board certified by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
(PMHNP-BC) to provide psychiatric care across the lifespan.
Special Interests
Mood disorders (including depressive and bipolar disorders), anxiety disorders, trauma
and stressor related disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders (including attention
deficit and hyperactivity disorders, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual
developmental disorders); working with BIPOC and veteran communities
Outside of Work
Kim is a mom to a smart and beautiful little girl! They enjoy spending time with their
family and friends and our 12 year old rescue dog, Morgan.
