About Paul's Area of Practice

Paul provides individual therapy for adults ages 18 to 65 as well as adolescents. He has specialized training in the assessment and treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) under the supervision of Molly McClure, MSW, LICSW. Paul takes a collaborative, individualized, and evidence-based approach to therapy, recognizing that each person’s experiences, strengths, and goals are unique. He integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches to best meet each client’s needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). He is also pursuing advanced training and certification in Functional Family Therapy (FFT).

Philosophy

Paul believes that meaningful change is possible for every individual. His therapeutic philosophy is grounded in creating a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. He values the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and create realistic, meaningful goals. Paul recognizes that healthy relationships, social connection, and a sense of belonging are essential to emotional well-being. Together with clients, he explores ways to strengthen these connections while increasing self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in navigating life’s challenges. His goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that supports lasting personal growth and recovery.

Areas of Clinical Interest

Areas of Clinical Interest include trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use and co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, schizophrenia and other serious and persistent mental illnesses, anger management and emotional regulation, sleep disturbances, and life transitions.
